MinVerse: A 3D Mouse that Provides Realistic Tactile Feedback and Supports Everything from 3D Modeling to Drawing
In January 2025, at CES 2025 held in Las Vegas, USA, the 3D input device 'MinVerse,' which won the Best of Innovation Award in the Metaverse category, made its debut on Kickstarter, attracting significant attention.
MinVerse is a 3D mouse that allows for intuitive operation by moving freely in three-dimensional space. Unlike conventional 2D mice, which are limited to horizontal and vertical movements, MinVerse enables control in all directions including forward, backward, left, right, up, and down as well as rotation, allowing users to operate it by moving their hands in mid-air.
It features an ergonomically designed structure for extended use and advanced haptic feedback. With a maximum dynamic force feedback of 4N, it provides a tactile experience close to reality, allowing users to not only manipulate objects in 3D space but also feel their textures and resistance in real time.
The software is compatible with the proprietary 'Haptic Advanced Robotics Platform (H.A.R.P.),' as well as the integrated 3D CG software 'Blender' and the robotics simulation software 'RoboDK.' More supported software is planned to be added in the future.
The early bird price for MinVerse is 1,140 Canadian dollars (approximately 122,000 yen), with shipping scheduled for October 2025. A limited number of early shipping rewards are also available, priced at 1,075 Canadian dollars (approximately 115,000 yen), with delivery planned for May 2025. Shipping costs to Japan will be determined before dispatch.
MinVerse is currently being crowdfunded until March 29, 2025. Against a goal of 65,000 Canadian dollars (approximately 7 million yen), it had already raised around 140,000 Canadian dollars (approximately 15.4 million yen) as of February 18, 2025.
